About the Artist
Jay Sanborn (they/them) is a transmasculine fiber artist, garment maker, wage worker, and writer living and working in Baltimore, MD. They use traditional craft techniques to create works that address the relationships between labor, gender politics, queerness, capitalism, and American violence. They often write about the difficulties of being a working class artist, and the evils of capitalism. Outside of their studio, you can find Jay at the dog park, reading science fiction, or watching horror movies with their partner and cats.
